San Antonio Botanical Garden - August 2013
When I visited my family in Texas, my dad took us to the botanical gardens in San Antonio. Although I’m not one to stop smell the roses, there was a unique diversity of flora that definitely caught my eye. Many of the plants were simple and beautiful, so I inevitably stopped to take a few pictures. Alas, there were no roses to smell.
The Plants
The botanical garden had a tropical greenhouse area filled with exotic pitcher plants, the pavilion had blooming fruit and little succulents:
The Flowers
The wide array of flowers was great, even the little stocks were the ones that enraptured me the most. The bromeliads were vibrant and even the cacti were blooming:
These photos were taken with my little NOKIA LUMIA 520 smartphone, and even though it had a small sensor it still had some decent depth-of-field capabilities. This location would soon become a regular destination for my amateur photo sessions.
