Cincinnati Zoo - October 2012
It was a cloudy and rainy day, but we didn’t let that stop us from enjoying the critters that make up the Cincinnati Zoo. These beautiful creatures, big and small, were having fun with pumpkins because the zoo was celebrating the Halloween season when we came to visit during my college days.
The Animals
Of the few animals eager to brave the cloudy weather, I managed to capture some Ring-tailed Lemurs (a superb photo, if I say so myself), Siamang gibbons, Polar Bears, Asian Elephants, penguins, and a standard goat:
These photos were taken with the compact OLYMPUS SZ-10 camera, which did surprising well on an overcast day, but it was unable to recode video of the cheetah demonstration, so I had to resort to just enjoying it with my own eyes. There was also a peacock being escorted around the zoo with some handlers, but the crowd was too much for any of my amateur video skills to capture anything worthwhile. Perhaps next time…
