San Antonio Botanical Garden - March 2015
The Botanical Garden in San Antonio has become one of my favorite places to visit. Each time I walk the flora-rich landscapes of the Garden I discover something new and beautiful to admire.
The Plants
It always amazes me how diverse and complex each flower and cacti can be, and during this visit I photographed some succulents, ferns, tiny moss, and a variety of seed-pods:
The Flowers
Easily the most diverse in the Garden, different groups of flowers bloom throughout the seasons. Among these flowers, I photographed a blooming Shrimp Flower (first image) and a Bluebonnet (last image):
The Critters
Most of the critters are usually too fast or far away to capture a decent photograph. This time, however, I brought a bigger camera and I took some photos of a Mockingbird, a ladybug, and a visiting Ring-tailed Lemur. My brother and I also like to discover new things we haven’t seen before; last visit was a frog, so this visit we spotted a green lizard hiding in the topical exhibit:
In addition to my compact OLYMPUS SZ-10, I packed the bigger OLYMPUS E-500 DSLR with a telephoto lens, which produced great photos with a nice depth-of-field effect.
