9/11 Memorial - June 2012
During my time at college, my parents were stationed in New York and we had the opportunity to see the World Trade memorial site when I came over to visit. It was hallowed ground, so I took my photos as objectively as possible by taking candid photos that would hopefully encourage remembrance of a difficult time.
The Memorial
It was an impressively large site, the fountain was loud enough drown out the city noise but everything still seemed quite. In these photos are my mother and two younger brothers:
These photos were taken with my compact OLYMPUS SZ-10, which took some sharp photos but they lacked some depth-of-field from my other camera. I managed to capture my mother explaining to my youngest brother what had happened, who was born 5 years after the event.
I was 10 years old when 9/11 happened.
I was in homeroom eating breakfast when one of the other teachers came by our room and told my teacher to turn on the TV. There was a building with smoke coming out of it. I remember the footage of the second plane hitting the second tower.
I will always remember.
