LEGO LOCUST - Attack Drone
This LEGO creation is a transforming drone. Nicknamed Locust for its unique design, this unmanned aerial drone is built for low-altitude, air-to-surface combat.
Fast and Deadly
The compact mode enables the drone to effortlessly travel close to the ground with great speed and minimal detection.
The expanded attack mode allows the drone to orbit around its target in a sideways manner. Although it is lightly armored and minimally weaponized, a pair of these drones can surprise a small group of bandits by circling opposite of each another, which negates the targets’ ability to take cover or defend itself.
Development
This LEGO creation was originally built around 2009 and has largely remained the same, with the exception of a couple of cosmetic pieces. Its creation was designed to combat the hordes of LEGO Star Wars Stormtroopers that my brother and I had amassed over the years, who had superior armored vehicles and fortified defenses.
